What do they do?

During the Winter months:

Have varied lecture programme on a wide range of archaeological topics and in addition our associated Local History Group also runs a lecture programme.

During the Summer months:

Organise excursions for our members to some of the more unusual or hard to find historical sites in the South.

Cater for the "hands on" archaeologists among the society - apart from "digging" own site, they assist other groups and professional archaeologists.

Digs run every Saturdays and Wednesdays looking for a peasant farmstead, which has already raised many new questions and burial observations!

They additionally support a number of training courses to help members become more knowledgeable and proficient - by arranging training and qualifications in archaeology.
