Royal Archaeological Institute

What do they do?:

  • Monthly lectures occur between October-May at Burlington House, London, on recent research and current archaeological discoveries. These are filmed and available to members on their website.

  • Three annual meetings, a day trip in the autumn, a weekend visit in the Spring and a week long summer meeting.

  • There is also a regional conference on a particular theme/ period of research.

  • They publish the ‘Archaeological Journal’, and award grants for research/excavation, and provide advice from experts in the field!


Cost: An ordinary membership (under 26) is £25 yearly (or £20 with direct debit)

Or an option for a £20 yearly Associate membership (or £15 via direct debit) is offered - though this doesn’t include receiving the archaeological journal!)
